Time Magazine recently released it's coveted list of "The Top 10 Everything of 2009." The expansive list includes categories ranging from the Top 10 Animal Stories to the Top 10 iPhone Apps. The category of Top 10 Albums of 2009 includes the likes of "The Fame Monster" by Lady Gaga at number 10 and "American Saturday Night" by country singer Brad Paisley at number 1. There are no hip hop albums in the top 10 (even Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 doesn't get recognized by Time) - accept for RAEKWON'S "ONLY BUILT 4 CUBAN LINX... PT. II."
Time Magazine stated that Raekwon's OB4CL2 album was powerful and he "understands that rap is less about an easy hook than it is about the collision of carefully chosen words." Well said indeed!!! Congratulations to Lex Diamonds and his recognition from Time Magazine.
